Week 4, Day 1: 7/26 The start of my last week was bittersweet. On the one hand , I was happy to be able to sleep in again, but on the other hand, I didn’t want to leave such an educational internship. To kick off the week, I presented my Art & Politics project to Abelardo! It was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed showing off all the work I had done. After that, I worked on some smaller projects, but the majority of the day was spent labeling all the digitized photos for the soon-to-be-opened “18th & Grand Olympic Auditorium” exhibit. I had to go through all the digital photos and provide labels and descriptions for each picture. It took up most of my day, but luckily I finished a little early and could head home. JULY 24 Today’s week was really diverse due to the intensity of the work, there were days that were really calm and would spend the day helping kids with their projects then there would be other days that drained me so much I would fall asleep as soon as I got home.       Monday was the start of another  week and I mostly helped with office works and other stuff around the facility. Then on the afternoon,I helped Yollo’s team of councils to make an art project for the Boys and Girls Club on the other floor of our building.The council team were all peers of mine (ages 18-23) and it was fun making an art out of corn husk while watching K-pop on the TV. Holocaust Museum Houston Week 4: July 27-August 2 Roseliane Corona ॱ⋅.˳˳.⋅˙ॱᐧ.˳˳.⋅ઇଓ July 27 Lockdown Throwback Pt. 3? I’m still at home. Today I had a meeting with Laurie to check in about my project as I developed it from home. It’s mostly been drawing some of the graphics and other technical things like updating the transcript. My plan is after putting together the graphics, I can begin putting text on the Canva version of my project. Most of my development has been trial and error because some of the visions I had for this project just aren’t possible. For example, I wanted my matching activity to be puzzles but puzzle shapes don’t work well with the text that needs to go inside. Another failed attempt was including a pop-up element for an iSpy activity on the timeline, that definitely doesn’t fit.   My favorite exhibit at the museum, the Vietnamese Tet Festival. 7/26, Wednesday  Due to Muneeba being on vacation this week, I mainly stayed in the art studio to support Evelyn. It was the longest time I had stayed in the studio. When Evelyn's meetings ended, she took over the art studio and I accompanied Jessica around the museum trying to find the department's missing foldable hand truck. Sadly, we never found it. We did, however, get to label all the standing holder signs with the name of the department it belonged too (one thing I learned about being in the museum is that every department is possessive of their belongings, sharing is a nonexistent term).  7/27, Thursday I brought my sister to the museum today. She's only one year younger than me so she came as a volunteer. Together we facilitated the painting with natural pigments activity in the art studio. We also cut a lot of paper.   Week 4!! 07/24: Hello all! Today was not crazy eventful for me. I continued to research ideas and logistics for an event with Blaxplanation and I continued to organize the photos and descriptions for the Displaced Aurarian Project exhibit. Organizing all these photos has been pretty time consuming because it is a pretty long process of cropping and writing the stories of the community members.  me scanning consent forms Besides building my organization and research skills through these projects, I also had the chance to attend a virtual Intern Cohort with some amazing people that work at the museum!
